Portlander Problems #3

My Portlander Problems for the week...
1. I made my husband drive the six blocks to church on Sunday instead of walking because I didn't want to get my Toms muddy.
2. I realized on Saturday that I had not yet shaved my legs this month.
3. I put off leaving the house for three days straight because the weather was just that bad.
4. Jeremy happened upon three goats in our street eating the neighbor's garbage on Thursday.*

*Let me reiterate the fact that we live in the city of Portland and are not out in the country. I also should mention that seeing the goats was my first reason for leaving the house after those three days.

Our Hallway

Why yes, we are the weirdos who put illustrations of animals wearing clothing in our hallway.
It took us a while to get to that place, but we decided to just go for it.  We don't mind being quirky.
The sea otter was originally in my studio.  The dog and cats were both purchased for us as gifts for Pearl's room.  We decided they should all be together and since we already had plenty of decor for Pearl's room, the hallway seemed like the most logical place.  Logical, right?
Anyway, I hope to buy more over time and have a ton of them lining the hallway.
I totally love them.

Craigslist Weekend

Craigslist was good to us this weekend.
Jeremy sold his 1965 Ford F100 to a nice old man.
And...we finally found the dining table of my dreams.  We have been looking everywhere for a table and chairs that we would both agree upon.  I wanted something that fit in better with our ranch style home and Jeremy wanted something classic, with clean lines, and "not weird" as he would put it.  I think the set we found is the perfect balance and I really love it.
The set was built in the 1970's, but is in near perfect condition. It was also a great deal!  I love everything about it.
How was your weekend?

Nursery Sneak Peak

I know I said the nursery tour would be posted this week, but I quickly realized there is not enough time to clean, take photos, and edit them by tomorrow with everything else I have going on.
So...I will post it next week.
I promise!

Portlander Problems #2

My Portlander Problems for the week...
1. Three days of sunny weather, three days of torrential downpours, and today...snow.  Welcome to Portland in March.
2. Two days last week of legit sun and temperatures in the 60s means a lot of pasty white legs exposed for the first time this year.
3. I accidentally asked for a "tall" at a cool independent coffee shop instead of a 12oz, effectively outing myself as someone who occasionally goes to Starbucks.  Embarrassing.
4. I didn't bring enough re-usable grocery bags to the store yesterday so I ended up with one completely soaked through paper bag by the time I got to my car in the above mentioned torrential downpour.  Plastic bags are illegal within city limits in Portland and paper obviously makes the most sense in the rain.

Finally Finished

I finally finished my craft project that has been haunting me for the past six months.
I also managed to buy a crib skirt, iron the stupid thing, and put it on the crib.  Let me just say that I am completely opposed to ironing bedding, but it came out of the dryer so wrinkled that I had to.  I think I will never wash it again so I don't have to iron it once more.
Anyway, those were the two things I needed to do in order to consider the nursery finished.  Now that it is "finished" I will post a nursery tour later this week.
Speaking of finished...does anyone have a good suggestion on how to attach paper mache letters to the wall?  They are very light, but are going above the crib so I would prefer they not fall on the baby.
